Used for gas hot water heater replacement – went from traditional to tankless unit. Was an urgent need and I did not get estimates from others, so I do not know how they compare from a price standpoint. However, I absolutely cannot complain about the quality of the work or the service. Joseph was the plumber who did my install and he took time to ensure that the extensions to the water line and gas line that he had to run were well secured and visually appealing (in other words – the install was very thoughtfully done and he didn’t just take the easiest route like many would do). I did not make any requests in regards to how the unit was installed, so that really attests to the quality of the work that Joe does. Again, I cannot speak to the cost of the job. If it was not an urgent need I might have shopped around a little bit first, but after this experience the savings would need to be substantial for me to go with someone else.

UPDATED: 2/7 – The service manager called Monday morning to discuss my concerns. Steve was very professional and genuinely interested in my the issues raised in my review.Based on the timely response by Steve, I will definitely consider Delcor in the future with any HVAC needs.Posted 2/6 – I called Delcor for HVAC service based On a neighbors recommendation. My heat pump was adequately heating, but not cutting off as expected once it reached the desired temperature of 65° (night time temperature above 40°).Justin was the first tech that came to check the unit. Per his notes “he found the system operating normally” and only made a modification to the upstairs zone damper to allow proper airflow downstairs. The system had been operating with the dampers set as they were before Justin arrived for over 6 years. The charges were $100 standard labor and $25 truck charge. Needless to say, the problem persisted with the unit not cutting off after reaching the set temperature.Nick was the second tech who came back to inspect the unit. He found a short in the auxiliary heat panel. There was no charge for this visit because Justin had failed to realize the problem part on the initial service call. Nick ordered the part and informed me Delcor would call when it arrived.Casey from Delcor left a message Thurs the part was in and someone could either come that afternoon or Friday morning. When calling back to Delcor, Casey was at lunch so a message was given to another person at Delcor for a tech to come Friday morning. At approximately 9 AM Friday Casey was called to inquire when to expect the service tech. Unfortunately, Casey had not been given a message on Thursday to send a tech Friday morning To install the auxiliary heat kit.After the phone call to Casey, Grant came Friday and successfully install the new part. Charges for services this day again included the $100 standard labor, $25 truck charge, and part fee. Thankfully, the heat pump is back to running normally, even with the much much colder dip in temperatures.Note, between Justin and Nick’s service calls, I reached out to Delcor management and received a timely call from Casey regarding my concern. Casey was very responsive, understanding, and professional each time I spoke with her. The 3 star rating is due to the initial tech’s inability to diagnose the problem and the lack of communication when a message was left for Casey. Also, the standard $125 fee for each service call appears slightly higher than other HVAC companies I subsequently reached out to.

I had repeated mechanical failed parts. For example, igniter was replaced five times in one year, and gas valve – three times. The reason for their short life was low manifold pressure: 1.6′ w.c. instead of the recommended 3.5′ w.c.Delcor took apart the gas line and blew nitrogen. The pipe was full of pipe dope. It was removed, and the pressure returned to its normal value.Finally after a year of struggle the correct diagnostic was done, and the problem fixed.
